The Denver Broncos (AFC) were able to hold off the aggressive Carolina Panthers (NFC) offense. It was the battle of the defenses as both teams only scored one touchdown and the touchdowns came from one yard runs from the goal line.
Von Miller of the Broncos was nominated MVP of the Super Bowl because he had 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and six tackles. Both his forced fumbles started the Broncos’ offense in the Red Zone.
Cam Newton, the NFL MVP of the year, was 18-of-41 passing for 197 yards and three turnovers (NFL.com). He wasn’t his usual self in the Super Bowl as he went against the number one defense in the league. Denver’s defense allowed 197 yards passing and 118 rushing yards. Denver’s Defense caused four turnovers, three from forced fumbles and one interception.
The Broncos proved they were the better team and came out on top.
